Vietnamese seafood exports to China are expected to boom after China opens its borders and lifts all isolation measures to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic this month.
The National Agro-Forestry Fisheries Quality Assurance (Nafiqad) under
the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has asked Russia to
ease restrictions on Vietnamese seafood exports to the Eurasian Economic
Community.
The value of Viet Nam''s farm, forest and fisheries exports reached
US$17.43 billion in the first seven months of 2014, up nearly 12 per
cent year on year.
The Viet Nam Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) expects the value
of Vietnamese seafood exports to China to increase strongly, touching
US$800-900 million annually in the coming years.
